Three-dimensional non-relativistic (super)gravity and higher spins

Abstract:
In this talk, I will motivate and give an overview of recent constructions of diffeomorphism-covariant non-relativistic gravity and supergravity theories in three dimensions. Specific emphasis will be put on the underlying space-time symmetry algebras and how they can be viewed as Inönü-Wigner contractions or expansions of the three-dimensional (super-)Poincare algebra. Towards the end, I will mention generalizations to non-relativistic higher-spin theories.
