Generating formulation for higher spin gauge fields
Abstract:
We discuss various aspects of mixed-symmetry field dynamics on Minkowski and AdS spacetimes.
In particular, we describe a concise generating formulation for free massless, partially-massless and massive HS fields.
Various other known fomulations (including light-cone description, Metsaev formulation and the unfolded formulation) are derived through the appropriate reductions and gauge fixing.
The approach is presented in BRST terms and extensively uses Howe duality between spacetime and auxiliary symplectic algebras.
