The Walter THIRRING Prize

2004

The Austro-Ukrainian Institute for Science and Technology (AUI) and the Walter Thirring International Institute for Mathematical Physics, Astrophysics and Nuclear Investigations (TIMPANI) hereby solicit nominations for this joint prize in recognition of exceptional achievements in the Modern Fundamental Theories and Experiments.

The Committee consulative of the AUI and the TIMPANI will choose a resipient on the basis of outstanding contribution to the advancement of research. The main selection criterion is research excellence.

Previous recipients are as follows:

• 1997 - Professor D. Volkov.
• 1998 - Professor J. Wess.
• 1999 - Professor G. Eder, Professor H. Rauch and Professor A. Sitenko.
• 2000 - Professor W. Kummer.
• 2001 - Professor E. Celeghini.
• 2002 - Professor S. J. Bauer.
• 2003 - Professor L. Faddeyev.

The Walter THIRRING Prize 2004 of 3000 Euro will be awarded and the recipient will present a lecture at KUMMER - SYMPOSIUM ' 2005 (September 19, 2005, Sevastopol', Ukraine).

Nominations for the Walter THIRRING Prize 2004 must be submitted till December 31, 2004 by at least two sponsors of recognized stature and should include the following information:

• Supporting letter
• Curriculum vitae
• List of publications
• Up to five preprints
